DHS to Supplement H-2B Cap with Nearly 65,000 Additional Visas for FY 2024

In Fiscal Year 2024, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) have announced the issuance of 64,716 additional H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visas, in addition to the 66,000 visas required by Congress. The goal of this expansion is to accommodate the labor demands of American companies, particularly those in the hotel, tourism, landscaping, and seafood processing sectors. This action is in line with the Biden Administration’s objective of providing legal routes as a substitute for unauthorized immigration.
