While their renewal application is being reviewed, some applicants for renewal who have filed Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, may be automatically granted an extension of their expiring employment authorization and/or employment authorization papers (EADs). As of right now, qualifying candidates will be granted 180-day extensions in accordance with current rules.
